The PCWP is primarily for USMA cadets, families, and graduates from NY and NJ.  However, this site also offers information for the entire West Point family, especially through the Club's copyrighted publication, The Sourcebook for West Point Parents.

Parents Club History and Purpose

The Parents Club of West Point (serving New York and New Jersey) was founded in 1976 to promote and exchange information and experiences to help Cadet parents fully enjoy and appreciate West Point. Throughout the years of our Club's existence we have sought to accomplish the following objectives:

·
To encourage young people to attend the United States Military Academy (USMA).
· To enhance the image of USMA and to promote positive public relations.
· To provide a means for social contact and camaraderie among the parents of Cadets and West Point graduates.
· To strengthen parental ties with West Point.

At present, the Parents Club of West Point has over 315 individual members across the country (NY, NJ, AZ, CT, PA, FL, NC, TX and MA), with thirteen charter members. “Once a member, always a member” certainly applies to our club. Our meetings are conducted at West Point with featured Academy guest speakers. Among the many events our club sponsors are: The Annual Firstie Recognition Lunch, The New Cadet Candidate Picnic at South Dock, Pizza Luncheon for New Cadet Parents at the Ski Lodge, Annual Boat Ride up the Hudson, Football Tailgate, The Winter Ball and Silent Auction. The Parents Club also publishes a newsletter to keep members informed of all Club activities and projects. All members receive a Club directory, The Sourcebook, and a name badge.

The Parents Club strives to directly support West Point's mission by investing in Cadet and Academy programs. In the past we have raised funds for: The annual General of the Army Omar N. Bradley Award for Excellence in History Research which is given to a graduating Cadet; the three pikes for the cadet color guard flag poles; the six granite benches on the Sports Complex landing; contributions to the Army Athletic Association at the 5-Star level, the West Point Fund, and the families of the 101st Airborne Division; the mace for the pipes and drums of the Corps of Cadets; refurbishing the entry hall and visitors waiting area of Lincoln Hall; a brick paver for the walk surrounding the AOG Herbert Alumni Center; original and replica weapons to the Military History Department collection; the USMA Military Geography Guest Lecture Series; annual purchase of a Howitzer Yearbook page and a Parents Club of West Point Graduate page; Parents Club of West Point Leadership Award of Outstanding High School Juniors; the Cadet Activities Fund; the Foreign Immersion Summer Program; and the Academy Scholars Program (Academic Individual Advance Development)

We are extremely proud of our endeavors. Through our continued membership support and our love for the United States Military Academy, we remain a vital part of the West Point greater community.
